Our Transition to Out-of-Network Care — Effective July 1, 2026
We are committed to making this transition smooth and worry-free for you. Below are answers to the most common questions we receive from patients. Our goal is to keep delivering the exceptional spine care you expect from Dr. Cyr while ensuring no additional out-of-pocket costs for you.
This change allows us to reduce the heavy administrative burdens imposed by insurance companies. It frees up more time for Dr. Cyr and our team to focus on what matters most—providing personalized, quality orthopedic and spine care tailored to your needs.
Yes—absolutely. You may continue your care with Dr. Cyr and our team without any interruption. Many patients choose to stay with their trusted physician even when using out-of-network benefits.
No. We are committed to making this transition seamless for you. We will not charge you more than the network responsibility or co-pays you are currently used to paying. There will be no additional out-of-pocket costs for you because of our practice going out of network. You will continue receiving the same exceptional care from Dr. Cyr at the same familiar cost level you have always experienced.
Your insurance will process the claim according to your plan's out-of-network benefits. Our practice will handle the billing so that your responsibility remains limited to your usual in-network deductible, copay, or coinsurance amount. Whether you need conservative management or advanced treatment for cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spinal issues, your out-of-pocket costs will not increase due to our out-of-network status.
We remain committed to transparency. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when you schedule or upon request (at least 1–3 business days in advance). We will work with you to keep costs predictable and affordable while delivering the same high level of care.
Insurance carriers sometimes send letters suggesting you switch to an in-network provider. These letters are not a requirement. You have the right to continue care with the doctor who knows your history best. Dr. Steven Cyr is a Mayo Clinic-trained spine surgeon with over 22 years of private practice experience. He previously served as Chief of Spine Surgery for the Air Force and as Spine Surgery Consultant to the Surgeon General of the Air Force. Patients choose him for his specialty board certified training and experience resulting in quality outcomes in treating simple to complex spinal issues involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.
No. You will continue to receive the same personalized attention, advanced treatment options, and outstanding outcomes you have come to expect. Our office policies, scheduling, and staff support remain unchanged. Dr. Cyr's expertise and commitment to your health are unchanged.
Most plans will continue to honor existing referrals and authorizations during the transition. We recommend verifying with your insurer. Our team is happy to assist with any paperwork or coordination needed.
We fully comply with the federal No Surprises Act and Texas patient protection laws. You can request a Good Faith Estimate or a detailed explanation of benefits at any time. Simply call our office and we will provide clear information in advance so you can make informed decisions.
