What to Expect

Your First Consultation

Your first visit with Dr. Cyr typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. During this time, he will review your medical history and prior imaging, perform a thorough physical and neurological examination, discuss your diagnosis and all available treatment options, and answer your questions about surgical and non-surgical approaches.

Please bring any prior MRI, CT, or X-ray images (on disc if possible), a list of current medications, your insurance card and photo ID, and any surgical records from prior spine procedures.

If Surgery Is Recommended

If Dr. Cyr determines that surgery is the best path forward, his team will walk you through pre-operative testing and medical clearance, the specific procedure being planned, expected recovery timeline, and pre-surgery preparation instructions.

Day of Surgery

Most spine surgeries are performed at accredited surgery centers or hospitals in the San Antonio or Houston area. Arrival is typically 1–2 hours before the scheduled procedure. A member of Dr. Cyr's team will be with you throughout the process.

Recovery

Post-operative recovery varies by procedure. Dr. Cyr and his team provide detailed recovery instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress. Physical therapy may be recommended as part of your recovery plan.
